What makes QLD Pelvic Floor Centre different?

The pelvic floor muscles are an incredible system that supports the bladder, bowel and reproductive organs, all while we carry on with our daily lives.

When life is impacted and gets stressful because you’re experiencing dysfunction of one or more of these areas (often it comes in multiples), such as bowel leakage and constipation, you need a plan that doesn’t just look at one in isolation but considers all the functions of ‘down there’.

All in one location our specialists work together to provide a cohesive and collaborative care plan that gets your life back on track. Other providers tend to deal with only one aspect of the pelvic floor, so while one issue might be healing, the patient is still left with an embarrassing condition, and the task of finding another specialist. This way can take years.

Our approach is to be as holistic as possible, and it starts with an assessment by our experienced pelvic floor nurse practitioner on the first consultation. Specialised tests are performed depending on your symptoms. Once our team has the whole picture of what your needs are, a customised care plan is curated by our specialists, ensuring all factors are considered to improve your quality of life sooner.

Symptoms might include bladder or bowel problems such as prolapse or incontinence, constipation or Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

Therapy for bladder and bowel problems range from advice on changes to lifestyle and nutrition, pelvic floor physiotherapy, to specialist medication advice. Any minor or major surgeries, if required, are able to be provided at our respective private hospitals.
