Dr Pamela Caleo

Dr Pamela Caleo is a specialist General Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in Colorectal Surgery and functional pelvic floor disorders.

Born, raised and educated in North Queensland Dr Caleo graduated from James Cook University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. During her career Dr Caleo trained in General Surgery throughout Queensland and obtained her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2019. Dr Caleo undertook additional training in Colorectal Surgery completing an international Fellowship with the Waikato District Health Board in New Zealand. Since returning to Australia in 2020 Dr Caleo has been practicing on the Sunshine Coast.

Dr Caleo is an active member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons; being the current chair of the Queensland Younger Fellow Advisory Committee, a member of the Queensland State Committee, assessor for the Queensland Audit of Surgical Mortality, clinical examiner and a reviewer for College Scholarships and Grants. Dr Caleo also contributes as a member of General Surgeons Australia; she sits on the General Surgery selection interview panel and is an examiner for the Queensland Fellowship Examination Preparation course. She has a keen interest in research with multiple publications in international surgical journals and presentations at highly regarded conferences.

Dr Caleo has a broad interest in general surgical and benign colorectal conditions. She is committed to ensuring patients with pelvic floor issues feel heard, their individual needs understood and that the care provided is personalised and holistic.
