Locating a Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist
Physiotherapists with an interest in pelvic floor dysfunction are a very important aspect of treatment for complex pelvic floor disorders. Physiotherapists provide a whole pelvic approach to symptoms and can address bowel symptoms as well as bladder and vaginal symptoms. It is widely established that all pelvic floor symptoms, including prolapse, bladder issues and constipation/bowel leakage can be improved with physiotherapy.
There are a wide range of physiotherapists in Queensland & NSW, each with valuable expertise in many areas of physiotherapy.
When treating pelvic floor problems, it is best that the physiotherapist is a dedicated pelvic floor physiotherapist with an interest in complex pelvic floor disorders, and who have undergone further training in this area.
At the Queensland Pelvic Floor Centre we are proud to have three excellent physiotherapists who are leaders in their field, each of whom has years of experience and training. Please feel free to contact our centre to arrange treatment.
We also understand that for patients who live out of Brisbane, or for whom transport or mobility is difficult, a pelvic floor physiotherapist more local to them would be more suitable. We therefore provide a list below of pelvic floor physiotherapists who have either had training by our team or that we know, both for doctors and patients to use. This list is not meant to be exhaustive or exclusive.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands where we live and work, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
